TPlink switch using T1600G-52PS V3.0
VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) is a technology that can solve broadcasting issues. A LAN can be divided into several VLANs logically, and only the hosts in a same VLAN can communicate with each other.
Here are two configuration examples for 802.1Q VLAN.
Example 1:
As the following figure shows, the switch connects to two different groups. It is required that the computers in the two groups cannot communicate with each other, but both of them can access the internet via the router.
Each group vlan have their own DHCP auto provide by draytek router.
VLAN 1 untag for all port, tag port leave it untouch
VLAN 2 untag for all port, tagged-port only select
i) the backbone port 48 to router
ii) port 1-2
VLAN 3 untag for all port, tagged-port only select
i) the backbone port 48 to router
ii) port 3-4
On the port config. assign the port to each vlan. if unassign it will go to vlan 1
Static routing have to be configure so your time can sync to NTP server.
Then you can set the interface ip address, in order to made the status “UP” for all vlan create, you have to assign the vlan in early first step we do and add the port 48.
Now everything is complete for TPlink smart switch, we have to configure draytek router. go to every detail for each vlan, configure the dhcp server.
Go to vlan configuration to assign the vlan. for example this port 2 Lan from draytek will go to the port 48 on switch. we have put the vlan tag on the draytek, that why we have to tagged it in tplink switch.
If you need the traffic accross each vlan, you have to enable the inter-routing.
